Lena was a half-sister to my great-grandmother, Hannah Wolfson Blieden. Lena was born circa April 12, 186, to Mishal Qait and Samuel Schocket.
She married Abraham Shapiro around 1888. They had 7 children from 1889 – 1906: Isador, Minnie, Bessie, Samuel, Henry, and Harry.
According to the 1910 United States Census, they arrived in the United States in 1891. Their oldest child, Isador, was born in Russia, but the others were born in the United States in Illinois. They were living on North Maplewood Avenue in Chicago.
Lena died in 1935 and is buried in Waldheim Cemetery in Forest Park, Illiinois.
