I’ve recently started writing children’s books that bring my family’s history to life, each rooted in a true story and the era that shaped it.

Gussie’s Suitcase Packed with Courage, Hope, and Secrets follows my grandmother’s brave journey from Latvia to America in 1904, set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century immigration.

May’s Long Wait tells the heartfelt story of my mother, who spent World War II writing letters and waiting for my father to return so they could begin their life together.

And Arthur’s Apple Tree Accident shares how my Uncle Arthur’s childhood injury in the 1920s sparked a lifelong passion for medicine, unfolding alongside the early days of modern orthopedic care.
Together, these stories connect family memories with the larger world events that shaped them, showing young readers how history and personal stories intertwine.
